Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Opportunity for a talented mechanical maintenance supervisor to work with a specialist independent company who counts some of the world's largest companies as customers. They have recently completed acquisitions which have further strengthened their position in the market. The organisation has a culture of transparency which extends to employees, customers and stakeholders.

As the mechanical maintenance supervisor, you will work as part of a small engineering team supervising contractors and taking ownership of the plant maintenance program. Your responsibilities will include: -

  • Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are maintained and acting as the principal point of contact for permit to works.
  • Scheduling and supervision of regular, preventative and emergency mechanical maintenance.
  • Controlling the maintenance management system and the spares inventory.
  • Developing work method statements, risk assessments and preventative maintenance programmes with the team, ensuring strict adherence to the permit to work system.
  • Supervising third-party contractors during maintenance and project activities.
  • Leading the design and execution of capital projects.
  • Being part of the call out rota (callouts are rare).

To apply for the mechanical maintenance supervisor position, you will need: -

  • A recognised time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship. Preferably with an ONC / HNC / HND qualification.
  • Hands on experience working in medium to heavy industry. Ideally on chemical plants.
  • Experience of supervising mechanical fitters/contractors.
  • A good understanding of pumps, pipelines, storage vessels and pressure vessels.
  • Experience with a computerised maintenance system.

In return, the mechanical maintenance supervisor will receive a salary of £32,000 - £35,000 depending on experience. Plus, a 15% pension contribution, private healthcare, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 30 days over time. Working days, Monday - Friday.
